Church Basics - Who are we? Why do we do what we do?

Church defined: a called out company or assembly. Wherever it is used in the scriptures it refers to _______________________.

The purpose of the church is two-fold. 

The church comes together for the purpose of bringing each member to spiritual maturity (Ephesians 4:13) Building up the body by making a Big deal about Jesus and His word.

2.   The church reaches out (scatters) to spread the love of Christ and  

      the gospel message to lost people. (Matthew 28:18-20).

The purpose of the church is to _____________ believers and _________ the lost.

Basics defined: forming or relating to the most important part of something; principles from which other truths can be derived;

The _________ is to keep the main thing the main thing. Jesus is the main thing.
